This issue we have a Skirmish themed issue, and as it’s our first anniversary it’s a bumper copy with 108 pages of advertisement free content.
Over cover artist Diego de Almeida has created a beautiful piece and it’s also available as a desktop wallpaper – but you’ve downloaded it already, surely?
The Skirmish theme is obvious throughout the issue starting with I’m Spartacus looking at the gladiator revolt. Then there’s the first part of a Dark Age Campaign using Warhammer Ancient Battles covering the basic rules for skirmish gaming – issues 6 and 7 will continue the campaign. Dave Barker has created some new City Guard NPCs for Pathfinder in the RPG section. We also have the top 5 skirmish video games from Craig Shaw, and Peter Allison explains how to run a covert ops campaign in Executive Protocols – as well as lots more!
Oh, and tucked in the back is a medieval rules supplement, Men at Arms by Jim Wallman.
We’ve got two fantastic interviews this issue – Black Library author Gav Thorpe and world famous painter/sculptor Jérémie Bonamant Teboul.
In the tutorial section we show you how to use Army Painter Dip to paint 1:72 scale miniatures, as well as simple ways to create blood and gore effects, and adding battle damage using hairspray!
There’s a bumper instalment of our comic, Tuk Tuk from Will Kirkby continuing the story where it left off in issue 4 / spring ‘10.
You may have already noticed we have a fantastic competition running over the summer on the competition page of this site. Dragon Forge Design are sponsoring with some fantastic prizes, and all you have to do is paint a miniature…so get cracking!
On top of all that we have 2 short stories, a fantastic artist showcase, a look at an inspiring local gaming store, the winner of the darkness art competition and reviews of Brutal, Dresden, Field of Glory, Fantasy Grounds, 2 books from Osprey and miniatures from Baccus, Kabuki and Hasslefree.
